On May 8th 2025, John F. Carney or more commonly known as Jack, peacefully passed in Providence RI at the age of 69. After a restless battle with end-stage Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (C.O.P.D) and Lung Cancer he spent his last days at home, surrounded by his loving family.

Jack loved fishing, hunting, and celebrating holiday traditions with his family. Known for his mechanic expertise and amazing sense of humor, there wasn't a person he met that didn't smile while having a conversation with him.

As the son of the late Elizabeth McCracken, and John Carney, Jack was raised with his siblings Joni Grix, and the deceased Janice Denman. Becoming the proud uncle to his nephews Anthony, Nicholas and Kory, May his family cherish the memories and love they shared over his lifetime.

Within his final hours, Jack found comfort in the care of his beloved wife Cheryl Carney, whom he considered to be his white light and angel. Alongside his wife he fathered two beautiful children, his son the late Jason A. Carney and his loving daughter Sherry Monte.

Jack was survived by his grandchild Aryanna Pecoraro, Jason A. Carney Jr, Jenise Jackson, Jovannee Monte, Jamanda Monte, Jaliyah Monte, Terrell Durden to whom he loved dearly. As well as his two great grandchildren Messiah Monte and Nyir Durden.

May his spirit rest in peace and his influence on this world be unforgotten. He will forever be in our minds and in our hearts.
